The monument is a nice idea. I think the last option is the most practical. The options with fountains would take a lot of maintenance.
I think it would be hospitable to put up a sign at the high school directing people to the baseball park. In the spring, there are a lot of bewildered visitors driving around the high school looking for the baseball field.
